At the end of a day on The Kerry Way, Carruntohill or Broaghnabinna walking back down from Lough Curraghmore with the Black valley slipping away behind you, the warm welcoming scent of the turf fires burning in Bridia you'll feel an extra spring in your step. Always leave word of your route and expected time to be back ,always inform the people that you have left word with that you have finished your hike.                 For people who are limited by time a suggested alternate route to walking out from Killarney to Black Valley is to take the boat 064 6630200 €15 from Ross Castle (Reen Pier)11 am 1.5 hours to the upper lake  Lord Brandons cottage 2pm and walk your first day through the Black Valley and stop over at the Stepping Stone 12km on your first night, then walk the following day either to a suggested place to stay Blackstones House 15km or maybe The Rowan tree 8.5km stay over your second night and then walk on to Glenbeigh the following day, it is possible to walk from the Stepping Stone to Glenbeigh in one day 21km allow 8.5 hour add some rest time to that.  please do not leave any rubbish/waste on the trail, If you carry it in carry it out.
